I am pleased to sponsor the U.S. Oyster Festival in St. Mary’s County, MD.
For the past 53 years, the Rotary Club of Lexington Park has sponsored the U.S. National Oyster Festival in St. Mary’s County, allowing the Club and other non-profits to raise funds in support of community service. COVID-19 has changed our ability to hold the festival with a live paying crowd. Out of an abundance of caution, the Rotary Club of Lexington Park has reluctantly closed the Oyster Festival for 2020 as we have known it. In so doing, the Club’s 2020 ability to serve the community runs the risk of going dry for 2021, just as needs will peak.

To preserve the Oyster Festival tradition, however, the U.S. Oyster Cook-Off and the U.S. National Oyster Shucking Contest will be hosted online. These modified virtual events will also serve as modest venues to recoup lost revenue. We hope, as a sponsor, you will take advantage of the opportunity to put your logo on one or both of our virtual events. We are also willing to run short spot commercials for your business during the events for substantial donors.
We seek your support as a sponsor at whatever level you feel is appropriate. As we hope to minimize our overhead to produce these virtual events, you can rest assured that a high percentage of your sponsorship funds will go towards providing service to our community. In turn, we will do our utmost to assure you are recognized according to your level of giving.
